Position Overview:
The primary function of the Billing Clerk is to support the Corrigan Mechanical Contractors (CMC) team with multiple aspects in the office and with a focus on improving the efficiency of our customer billing processes.
The successful candidate is detail oriented, focused, systematic, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
This is a non-exempt position located in Brighton, Michigan that reports to the CMC Operations Manager.
Primary Job Duties:
Work hours are 7:
00 AM - 4:
00 PM, Monday through Friday (1 hour lunch).
Review billing daily and maintain thorough records.
Resolve billing issues and respond to issues promptly.
Generate and distribute assorted reports, invoice proofs and invoice copies.
Collaborate with CMC Team to troubleshoot work orders and billing issues.
Perform general administrative tasks, including answering and directing phone calls, emails correspondence, filing, and mailings.
Monitor open work orders and purchase orders.
Communicate with vendors to obtain required information and maintain records.
Update records in project management system.
Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines, as well as Employee Handbook policies.
Perform any duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications / Experience / Education:
Good interpersonal skills.
Able to occasionally handle challenging/stressful situations.
Extremely efficient and accurate with data entry and proficient in MS applications.
(Excel, Word, etc.
)Attention to details and accuracy.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Demonstrate patience and when communicating with customers.
Knowledge of customer services ethics, principles and procedures.
Proficient in administrative and documentation procedures.
Versatile and willing to adapt to situations.
Communicate well through emails, over the phone and face to face.
Open to learning new skills as needed.
High school diploma with customer service experience is preferred.
Pass pre-employment 7-year criminal background check.
